With its 2,500 years of existence, Tangier has long been an important strategic place, it is one of the oldest cities in North Africa.
Its medina, kasbah, bazaars and souks are among the liveliest in the country, and its beaches are superb at around 7 km.
In the last century, Tangier has become one of the favorite places of the international jet set.
An important seaside resort, Tangier has various hotel and tourist infrastructures, and a medina which attracts huge visitors.
At the entrance to the Medina, the Grand Socco is the most visited place in the city. The square is bordered by the former residence of the Mendoub (representative of the Sultan) and its park. The Mendoubia park is a splendor with its giant banyan tree and its many hundred years old dragon trees, you can also see the Kasbah Museum, Cinematheque of Tangier and the Caves of Hercules.
Tangier has long been a welcoming land for many artists and intellectuals. Second Moroccan economic pole after Casablanca, the industrial activity of Tangier is diverse: textile, chemical, mechanical, metallurgical and naval industries.
The infrastructure of the city of the Strait is important: a port managing the flow of goods and passengers (more than a million travelers per year) integrating a marina and a fishing port.
